Larry Johnson's Agent: "We Know The N Word is Unnaceptable...But Faggot"?
Something tells me that this was an inside thought that he let escape out of his mouth by accident. Is there a human being roaming the earth in 2009 that doesn't understand the word faggot is offensive?
Suspended NFL Kansas City Chiefs player Larry Johnson's agent Peter Schafer spoke on the record to TMZ last week and only made matters worse for the troubled football star: "We know the N-word is unacceptable, that's not disputable -- but f*g? I'm learning that there's a segment of our society that finds it offensive and that it should not be used. I didn't realize that, but I do know now..."
Johnson received a one game suspension and an estimated loss of 60,000 after yelling to reporters "to get their faggot ass out of here" in the locker room last Monday. Johnson also repeatedly hurled the anti-gay slur to a fan on Twitter.
He later apologized saying the "word was used in frustration and they were not appropriate." Johnson's father also condemned his son's use of the word lamenting, "It’s not how he was raised. That’s just not who we are and not what we believe."
It's very telling that Schafer wouldn't dare utter the N word in public but up until his moment of enlightenment last week found it acceptable to use derogatory anti-gay language. The old adage "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" is a lie. Words have power and when they're used to incite hatred or violence towards an unprotected & disrespected minority the results can be fatal.
Schafer and Johnson deserves the Ne**O PLEASE AWARD OF THE YEAR.
