Tashiding West Sikkim

Tashiding is a little village on the top of a hill in close proximity to Pelling. The Tashiding monastery originally belongs to the Nyingmapa category and is highly respected by the people of Sikkim. Put up on the hilltop and looming over the Rathong and Rangit River, the monastery can be sighted from faraway and wide.

It is supposed that even a minor glimpse of the monastery can rinse mortals of the entire sins. The monastery was constructed during the period of 17th Century. There are a huge number of orchards of oranges and plantations of cardamoms around Tashiding which tourists can be visit from here.

Within the monastery, a pot of sanctified water is kept preserved only to be revealed and its droplets offered to devotees once each year in the Bumchu Festival for the duration of the 14th and 15th day of the opening month of the Tibetan calendar.

The unique tea saplings were brought from Darjeeling and the products of the garden are not very dissimilar from what one can suppose from the tea producing gardens of Darjeeling hills.

The garden offers stunning natural views. The charming view of tea plucking by women employees can be seen here throughout the plucking season. The visit to the factory can fetch an interesting lesson on tea processing and production.

Temi tea is also a familiar souvenir for tourists that visit the state. The majority of the tea produced in the garden is either consumed in the local area or purchased by vising tourists.
Spending one night in an aged British built bungalow situated just beneath the Temi Tea Garden Sikkim could be a mystifying experience of bonding the past and the present era. A visit to the tea garden, enroots to the Tendong Hill, could be a worthwhile experience.
